FAIRFIELD GIANTS youth football & cheer Program since 1966

51st Season of Fairfield Giants Football and Cheer Starts August 1

Fairfield, CT: The Fairfield Giants are set to kick of their 51st season with a new tackle model based on age and new leadership while maintaining the emphasis on safety, teamwork, and community.

“Football is evolving,” says recently elected Fairfield Giants President, Mollie Melbourne. “The move from an age-weight matrix to one based solely on age groups players of similar physical and cognitive development. We are really excited about the change and are expecting a great season.”

In addition to the change in presidency, Craig Kramer assumed the role of Vice President, Mark Innaimo is serving as Treasurer, and Ashley Ford and Sue Pennino will share the role of Cheer Coordinator. Mike Mitchell, immediate past President, will join continuing Athletic Director Erik Anderson and Secretary Lee Battista on the Executive Committee. General Board Members Michael Lau, Bob Watke, and Neeraj Mehta were also added in the 2017 elections.

“We couldn’t run this program without the volunteers. Board members dedicate a lot of their time to making sure this program runs smoothly and our participants have a safe and fun experience,” said Vice President Craig Kramer. The Board wishes to thank the following retiring Board members for their innumerable contributions: Paul Barnaby - Marketing Coordinator, Jennifer Spies – Registration Coordinator, and Steve Macri – Scholastics Coordinator.
