Fairfield Home From Contested Land Lawsuit Has Been Sold: Report
A Long Island man sued when he discovered a home was built without his permission on land he owned at 51 Sky Top Terrace in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield home at 51 Sky Top Terrace, which was at the center of a lawsuit over ownership of the property, has been sold.
CT Insider reports that the home was sold this month for $1.45 million, after a settlement was reached.
Dr. Daniel Kenigsberg, who grew up in Fairfield but now lives on Long Island, claimed that the home was fraudulently built on half-an-acre he had owned since the early 1990s.

Kenigsberg was a victim of a seller impersonation scam, in which an unidentified swindler sold the property for $350,000 to local developers who then built the house. A friend of Kenigsberg alerted him that a house was being built on the property in the spring of 2023.
The case became national news, because such impersonation scams have popped up around the country.

In the Kenigsberg case, the scammer, who reportedly used Johannesburg, South Africa, for an address, had made a fake passport in his name, which had an incorrect birthday and photo.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Kenigsberg reportedly received a payment.
The fraud case was initially investigated by the Fairfield Police Department, but later turned it over to the FBI, where it reportedly remains unsolved.
