Fairfield Library Presents 'The Art of Buying Art'
Learn how to assess value and interpret trends, originals versus prints, and how to start or add to your own personal collection.

From Fairfield Public Library: Learn the basics of what you need to know about navigating the world of galleries and shows from art experts Liz Tardif and Wendy Nylan. Learn how to assess value and interpret trends, originals versus prints, starting or adding to your own personal collection, as well as understanding the basic psychological effects of color and how this could influence your preferences in choosing art. Join us on Tuesday, January 17 at 7:00 pm in the Rotary Room at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is requested.
Presenter Liz Tardif has served as a curator for the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery at the Fairfield Public Library for over five years. She is an art advisor and the founder of Cherry Street Art, a resource for art buyers and collectors. A lifelong artist, Liz works primarily in acrylic and oil mediums.
Wendy Nylen is the owner of Picture This/Nylen Gallery in Westport, CT. Wendy is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Art History. She managed Picture This for nine years, from 1990-1999, and returned as gallery owner in December of 2007. Wendy is also an artist working in pastel, acrylic and oils.
