Fairfield Ludlowe's Schulz To Be Inducted Into FCIAC Hall of Fame
Will be honored - along with five others - during the league's awards banquet on Tuesday at Testo's Restaurant in Bridgeport
Fairfield Ludlowe High School athletic director Dave Schulz will be inducted into the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) Hall of Fame during the league's award banquet on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Testo's Restaurant in Bridgeport.
Schulz is one of six inductees and joins fellow honorees:
-- Ed Lane, former Rippowam High School track and field and basketball star.

-- Jeff Gee, the current long-time Wilton girls outdoor track coach.
-- Jeff Schnierlein, who coached four boys sports at McMahon High School -- tennis, cross country, wrestling and track and field .

-- The late Jim Girard, who passed away in 2002 after serving as Darien High School's athletic director. He was worked at Darien as the Blue Wave's football and wrestling coach.
-- George Albano, who has a been a sports writer for 36 years in the region. He is best known for his tenure as a longtime columnist and assistant sports editor at the Norwalk Hour.
Schulz has spent 32 years as a teacher, coach and administrator in Fairfield. He coached boys' basketball for 26 years in the town, including 18 seasons as the head boys' coach at Fairfield High School.
He won an amazing six FCIAC Coach Of the Year awards, an honor that is presented by his peers, and was named the Connecticut Post Coach of the Year three times.
Schulz's teams qualified for the FCIAC tournament 11 times, reaching the final in 1993. He squads also made the state tournament 17 times and advanced to the semifinals in 1992.
Currently in his sixth year as Ludlowe's AD, Schulz has been on the FCIAC board of directors since 1989.
