Fairfield Dad Accused of Drunk Driving with Kids in the Car after Sledding Trip
The man was arrested after a witness followed him home and notified police.

A Fairfield man is accused of driving under the influence with his 13-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in the car after a sledding trip, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports that David Pressler, 42, was arrested after a witness called police to report a black Mustang driving erratically around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The witness followed the Mustang to Pressler’s home and the witness told police that Pressler and two children got out of the car and walked into the house, according to the Citizen.
Pressler, who police said was noticeably stumbling when he stood up, allegedly admitted to an arriving officer that he had just driven the car and was argumentative during questioning, according to the Citizen.

Pressler, who refused to perform field sobriety tests, repeatedly told the officers to leave and said they couldn’t arrest him because they didn’t see him driving, according to the Citizen.
Police found two bottles of liquor, one was empty, in the Mustang and took Pressler to police headquarters, according to the Citizen, which also reported that the children’s grandfather was home at the time and they were left in his custody while the state Department of Children and Families was notified.
