Fairfield Man Accused Of Illegally Firing Gun In Ansonia: Police

The suspect is accused of firing two gunshots at a vehicle, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 27-year-old Fairfield man was arrested on a warrant this week after authorities said he fired a gun at a car during a domestic incident in Ansonia last month, according to a post on the Ansonia Police Department's Facebook page.

Taykwan Williamson was taken into custody Monday by Ansonia police, with assistance from Fairfield police, and was charged with the following:

  • Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit
  • Unlawful Discharge
  • First-degree Reckless Endangerment
  • First-degree Criminal Mischief
  • Second-degree Breach of Peace

The incident occurred on May 30, when Williamson allegedly kicked in the door to a home in Ansonia, then twice shot a vehicle outside, according to Ansonia police.

"The car, unoccupied at the time, had two bullet holes and shell casings were recovered at the scene," Ansonia police said in a statement.

Williamson was arraigned on Tuesday at Derby Superior Court and released on $150,000 bond. His next court date is July 18.
