Fairfield Musician to Play Relay for Life Benefit Saturday

A Fairfield musician, along with eight bands, will converge upon a local restaurant on Saturday to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Fairfield landscaper and musician Dennis Leahy, along with nine local bands, Irish dancers and face painters, have donated their time and talents to benefit the combined Bethel/Danbury/Brookfield/Redding Relay for Life. A ukulele with carrying case, gift cards from local businesses, gift baskets and more will be raffled off to benefit Wendy’s Warriors Relay for Life team.

Wendy Mitchell, a 45-year-old mother of three, was recently diagnosed with Metaplastic Carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive type of cancer that only occurs in one percent of women compared to the other types which occurs in eighty percent.

The all-day benefit concert takes place on Saturday, May 30 from 12-9 p.m., rain or shine, at Greenwood’s Grille, 186 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Conn.
