Fairfield Police Set DUI Checkpoints for Saturday

In preparation of Fairfield University's Clam Jam, police are setting up DUI checkpoints and enforcing temporary no parking/tow zones.

In effort to maintain public safety during Fairfield University’s Clam Jam celebration at Penfield Beach on Saturday, April 25, the police department will be conducting sobriety check points and enforcing temporary no parking/tow zones.

Police will conduct DUI checkpoints in the areas of Reef and Penfield roads. The check points are funded through a grant from the state Department of Transportation DUI Enforcement Program.

TEMPORARY NO PARKING / TOW ZONES:

  • In an effort to reduce overcrowding and maintain public safety, all streets leading to the beach, south of Quincy Street, will be posted as Temporary No Parking/Tow Zones from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Vehicles parked in these areas on will be ticketed and starting at 10 a.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Please park your vehicles in your driveways and plan your day accordingly based on these temporary tow zones.
