Fairfield RTM Representative Resigns, Won’t Seek Re-Election

The RTM member made the announcement on Thursday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Jennifer Hochberg-Toller, a member of the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting since 2011, announced Thursday that she will not seek re-election and submitted her resignation to the Town Clerk’s office. Hochberg-Toller no longer has a primary residence in Fairfield and cannot serve as an elected official or be a candidate in the upcoming election. Hochberg-Toller had been on the ballot in District 4.

“At the request of DTC leadership, effective today, Ms. Hochberg-Toller has withdrawn her name for the upcoming election and resigned her seat on the RTM,” Democratic Town Committee Chairman Steven Sheinberg said in a news release.

The DTC was informed of Hochberg-Toller’s change of address by Republican leadership on Tuesday night (Oct. 24). Although Hochberg-Toller had been living at her parents’ home in Fairfield, and has continued to stay there intermittently, it is no longer her primary residence, according to the news release.
