Fairfield Schools Announce Schedule Change For Monday

A winter storm has impacted the school day on Monday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — All Fairfield public and parochial schools will be dismissed early Monday, according to a message posted on the school district website.

Buses will pick up pre-kindergarten and high school students at 11:45 a.m.; Walter Fitzgerald Campus students at 12:15 p.m.; middle school students at 12:40 p.m.; Holland Hill Elementary School students at 12:55 p.m.; and all other elementary school children at 1:40 p.m. Afternoon preschools are canceled for the day. The district asked parents to refrain from calling the schools.

After a mix of rain and snow hit Fairfield County on Sunday, rain is expected Monday before noon, followed by a mix of rain and snow, and snow overnight, according to the National Weather Service. Over 4 inches of snow accumulation is possible Monday. The area is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
