Fairfield-Southport Realtor To Rappel Down Building For Charity

The local real estate agent will be participating in the "Over The Edge for Wakeman Boys & Girls Club" event.

FAIRFIELD, CT — (From William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty): A local real estate agent will be rappelling off a building for charity in September, William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced on Friday. Fairfield-Southport agent Trey Bickers will participate in the “Over The Edge for Wakeman Boys & Girls Club” event, which consists of participants rappelling 230 feet off of the 18-story People’s United Bank building in Bridgeport. The event will take place on Sept. 16.

The first 75 individuals who raise a minimum of $1,000 have the opportunity to participate. As of today, Bickers has raised $1,225 for the charity. For more than 100 years, Wakeman Boys & Girls Club has provided a welcoming, positive environment in which kids and teens participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults.

Each year Wakeman must raise more than $1.7 million dollars to ensure their programs are affordable to all children. To date, Wakeman Boys & Girls Club has raised $35,366 through the 2018 “Over The Edge” fundraiser.

“It is truly an honor to participate in an event that does so much for children and young adults in our local community,” Bickers said. “A fellow agent from our Fairfield-Southport brokerage, Tim Dailey, is on the planning committee for Over The Edge and encouraged me to participate. I am thrilled to have surpassed the $1,000 mark, and I look forward to raising more money for this noble cause leading up to the event in September.”
