Original story: FAIRFIELD, CT – The Philip I. Eliasoph Open VISIONS Forum at Fairfield University will host CNN Chief National Security Analyst Jim Sciutto for a discussion on Feb. 23, titled "Reporting Foreign Affairs: How Does It Impact the USA?" The discussion is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Event Hall.
Sciutto, who anchors The Brief with Jim Sciutto, covers U.S. national security, foreign policy, the military, the intelligence community, and the State Department. During the upcoming program, he will analyze how foreign policy, national security, and international affairs influence life in the United States. Sciutto will also offer insights into the evolving global order and America’s position within it.

Throughout his career, Sciutto has reported from more than 50 countries. His assignments include numerous reports from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran, as well as multiple visits to Ukraine and the Middle East. He is also the author of four books, including the New York Times Bestseller, The Return of Great Powers: Russia, China, and the Next World War, published in 2024. This book explores the breakdown of a decades-old international order among major global powers.
Sciutto's work has been recognized with several awards, including the duPont-Colombia Award, Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award, the George Polk Award, and the White House Correspondence Association’s Merriman Smith Award for presidential coverage.
