Fairfield University Hosts MLK Youth Leadership Academy, Feb. 9

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield University will host an MLK Youth Leadership Academy for Bridgeport eighth graders on Friday, Feb 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Barone Campus Center Oak Room, as part of the University’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration.
The theme for this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration is "Dreaming and Doing: Transforming Education."

Bryan Crandall, PhD, associate professor of literacy in the School of Education and Human Development, and director of the Connecticut Writing Project at Fairfield University will facilitate the academy which will consist of a variety of interactive sessions including writing exercises and discussions on topics such as problem-solving and decision-making.
The Youth Leadership Academy is part of a week of programming from Feb. 5-9, celebrating the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King.
