FAIRFIELD, Conn. — During the week of April 8, the Fairfield University Student Association is sponsoring a Public Safety Appreciation Week to acknowledge the steadfast commitment of the University’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) staff, and their dedication to ensuring a safe learning, living and working environment for our students, faculty and staff.
Beginning Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12, a series of events and activities have been scheduled to raise awareness of the importance of safety.
Events include an open house pizza party at DPS’ offices on campus, virtual reality (VR) training, mock crash on campus in partnership with the Fairfield Police and Fire Departments, a mocktails competition event with drinks created by Public Safety officers, and a corn-hole tournament to close out the week.
“The University would like to thank the Fairfield Police Department and the Fairfield Fire Department for their continued partnership and their willingness to participate in important events that raise public awareness on safety,” said Fairfield University Vice President of Marketing & Communications Jennifer Anderson.
