Via Fairfield University: FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield University’s Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies has been named in the top five among nursing schools in the New England Region by Nursing Schools Almanac’s 2019 ranking of the 60 Best Nursing Schools in New England. Ranked at No. 5 by the online nursing student resource, Fairfield is joined by the likes of Yale University (No. 1), Boston College (No. 2), University of Connecticut (No. 3), and University of Massachusetts Medical School (No. 4) in the Nursing Schools Almanac’s 2019 review.

Each nursing school in the region was ranked on three dimensions: the institution's academic prestige and perceived value; the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered; and student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure examination. These rankings were then combined into an overall score, producing the comprehensive regional ranking.

Fairfield’s high placement on the list was credited to its No. 9 ranking in the country by RNtoBSN.org for its hybrid RN-to-BSN program, its distinction as one of the best graduate nursing programs by U.S. News & World Report, and its over 90 percent passage rate for the NCLEX among graduates in the past decade.
