Fairfield University Receives OK For Bathrooms At Sports Field: Report

The town Plan and Zoning Commission recently approval for the project, despite reported opposition from some neighbors of the school.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Despite opposition by some neighbors of the school, Fairfield University has received approval to build bathroom and storage facilities at Barlow Field, CT Insider reported.

The university is reportedly building the structures to replace portable restrooms and metal storage facilities, in an effort to improve the field's functionality and appearance.

Neighbors voiced concerns over flooding from runoff due to the field's higher elevation.

In its approval of the project, the Town Plan and Zoning Commission set some conditions, which include adding trees for screening, regrade a slope, and lock the facilities when the field is not in use.
