Fairfield's 4th Of July Fireworks: 2019 Guide, Scheduled Time

FAIRFIELD, CT – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Fairfield so you can start planning now.

Independence Day fireworks show

When: July 3, entertainment starts at 6 p.m., fireworks start around 9:15 p.m. Rain date is July 5.

Where: Jennings Beach, 880 S. Benson Road, or Penfield Beach, 323 Fairfield Beach Road.

Summary: WEBE-FM will provide entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. at both Jennings and Penfield beaches. Fireworks explode just after dark from a barge off of Long Island Sound, so the show can be seen easily from both beaches, according to the town of Fairfield. Beach parking lots can be accessed either with a season beach sticker or by purchasing a daily pass for $50 per vehicle (cash only). Daily passes will be limited to the first 300 vehicles at Jennings Beach and the first 100 vehicles at Penfield Beach. A daily parking fee will also be charged to park at the Ash Creek Open Space parking lot the day of the fireworks. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on town beaches and beach patrons cannot bring their own grill. In the case of inclement weather, call 203-256-3144. Annual 4th of July bike parade

When: 10 a.m. to noon July 4.

Where: Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave.

Summary: Bring a festively decorated bike, scooter or wagon to Five Corners in Southport Village and parade to the Great Lawn for some fun and games. Activities will include face-painting, sack races, a hula hoop contest and crafts, according to the Pequot Library. Hot dogs, ice cream and drinks will be available. The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. No registration is required.

The Road to Independence: The Burning of Fairfield

When: 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 6 and 2:30 p.m. July 7.

Where: Museum Commons and Town Green, 370 Beach Road.
