Fairfield's Kitty Robertson Shines in DAC Stage Production of On Golden Pond

Veteran Actress and Kids' Theatre Teacher Takes Stage with Fairfield's Patrick Kiley in First Event Planned for DAC 40th Anniversary

Darien Arts Center Stage is happy to cast Kitty Robertson as Chelsea Thayer Wayne in its spring production of On Golden Pond. She will take the stage at the DAC under the direction of Patrick Kiley, fellow Fairfield resident. This heartwarming production of the 1979 classic by Ernest Thompson is the first of many events planned to mark the 40th anniversary of the Darien Arts Center in 2015. Robertson, a DAC Kids’ Theatre teacher, has been an actress for over 30 years and boasts an impressive resume of professional accomplishments that includes theatre, film, radio, and television.

Robertson is the founder, producer and director of after school performance classes at the Riverfield Elementary School in Fairfield, where she has introduced young actors to the magic of theatre through storytelling and improvisation. She has worked with students to rehearse, produce and perform over 25 one act plays and has acted as the producer, director and stage manager for multiple children’s talent shows. She is currently teaching kids’ theatre classes at the Darien Arts Center for children from age 3 through 6th grade that include all aspects of play building, storytelling and improv.

She has enjoyed a long list of roles in community theatre, and calls theatre her passion. Robertson has performed at the Westport Country Playhouse, Playhouse on the Green, with the Bridgeport Theatre Company and the Arch Villain Theatre Company among many others. In film, she has worked with Sony Pictures in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Carry Me Home with Cuba Gooding Jr. She has also worked with ABC Television on All My Children, One Life to Live and Guiding Light, and has appeared in many commercials. She has studied at the Atlantic Theatre School, HB Studio and The Independent Studio in New York City. She is thrilled to be working with fellow Fairfield resident and director of the DAC production of On Golden Pond, Patrick Kiley, whose work as a director includes several years of directing the annual Christmas Panto with the Town Players of New Canaan and many one-acts. “I am ecstatic to be part of this extraordinarily talented cast and to be lucky enough to work under the capable direction of Patrick.”
