Fatal Bar Fight Ruled Homicide
The fight took place at Chubby's Bar and Grill, near the Bridgeport-Fairfield line.

The fatal fight between two men outside of Chubby’s Bar and Grill near the Bridgeport/Fairfield line last month has been ruled a homicide, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports the state’s Chief Medical Examiner on Friday determined that West Haven’s Wayne Bentley, 42, whose body was found in the water of Ash Creek behind the bar, died from drowning with blunt force trauma of the head and neck and ruled the incident as a homicide.
Police were called to Chubby’s Bar and Grill near the Bridgeport-Fairfield line around 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 1 for the report of a bar fight. The men reportedly fell into the water behind the bar, police said.

Bentley’s body was recovered from the water by the Bridgeport Fire Department.
