Former Fairfield Interim Superintendent To Return In July: Report

Stephen Tracey has held the position twice before.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Stephen Tracey, a former interim schools superintendent twice before in Fairfield, will return to the same post in July, replacing Mike Cummings, who leaves at the end of June, the Connecticut Post reported.

Tracey held the post on an interim basis in 2016 and 2019, the latter the same year Cummings took over the position. Prior to coming to Fairfield in 2015, Cummings had a lengthy tenure with the Milford School District.

The Board of Education is turning to Tracey while it continues its search for a permanent superintendent, in part because Tracey is familiar with the district, and he has decades of educational experience.
