Hair Explosion Salon Celebrates 45th Anniversary In Fairfield

The Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development is pleased to share that Hair Explosion of Fairfield, located at 1735 Post Road in Colonial Village, recently celebrated its 45th Anniversary. The First Selectwoman, Brenda L., Kupchick and Office of Community and Economic Development Director, Mark Barnhart joined owners and husband and wife, Larry and Dee Leonzi, for a celebratory ribbon cutting on Wednesday, July 14th.

The two-level salon, crisply decorated in black and white, features hair-care facilities on the main floor, while the second floor features a bridal suite. Electrolysis (permanent hair removal) is also offered by appointment with Donna Vigorita.
Larry attended both hairdressing and barber school and specializes in haircutting. He has attended many advanced cutting classes over the years including being taught by Paul Mitchell at his Super Hair Salon in New York City, Ezio Tamburrini’s Academy in Canada, and Jingles Academy of London. Dee is a master and certified Goldwell colorist in Fairfield County with clients across the state. She specializes in all types of color including corrective, high and low lighting, and all types of perms, including spiral perms for long hair. Additional team members at the salon, Andrea, Barbra, and Joann, specialize in the latest cuts for men, women, and teens as well as all color and hi-light techniques.

Larry stated, “There are so many things that I love about our profession. Aside from making people look and feel great, we get to share each other’s lives. We are like a family.” Hair Explosion of Fairfield offers free, no obligation consultations on all of their services.
