The National Weather Service has just issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the region today and tonight.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of Fairfield County for today and tonight.
The NWS says, "Showers and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening
could produce locally heavy rain. The exact timing, duration, and areal extent of the heaviest rain are still uncertain, but as these factors come more into focus, short fused flash flood watches could be issued for parts of the area."

Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 68. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tonight
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 60. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
