CONNECTICUT — It snowed Tuesday and now Connecticut is expecting a rainstorm beginning Friday afternoon and lasting through Saturday morning. The state could see up to two inches of rain and it's possible that interior sections of Connecticut may start with some light freezing rain before everyone changes over to plain rain.

Temps, which have been cold the past couple of days, will moderate into the 50s this weekend. The weekend won't be a complete washout as the rain ends by early Saturday afternoon and Sunday is expected to be sunny with temps near 50 degrees.

But don't get too comfortable, as Connecticut could be looking at its next snow or mixed precipitation storm beginning late Monday through Tuesday night. That system is several days away and much can change between now and then.

The National Weather Service says temps will drop into the 20s tonight and on Friday light rain or drizzle is possible before the heavier rain moves in by Friday evening.

"The rain becomes more widespread late in the day and at night. The rain will be moderate to perhaps heavy at times. On Saturday, low pressure passes overhead, and rain will taper off by afternoon," the weather service says. "Temperatures will be above normal Friday, Friday night and Saturday."
