'Horrible Tragedy': Member Of Raveis Real Estate Family Dies In Crash
Meghan Raveis, a wife and mother of three, was killed while walking on Redding Road in Fairfield on Friday.
FAIRFIELD, CT — The investigation into Friday's fatal crash that killed Fairfield resident Meghan Raveis, 45, is continuing, according to police.
Raveis, Managing Director of the William Raveis Charitable Fund, was walking southbound on the northbound side of Redding Road in Fairfield just before 3 p.m., when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound, according to police.
She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Raveis leaves behind a husband and three children.

"My heart breaks for the Raveis Family," Fairfield First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in a statement to Patch. "It's a horrible tragedy that a young Fairfield mother and wife lost her life in this car crash. My sincere sympathies are with Meghan's children and husband."
Fairfield police echoed those sentiments.

"The Fairfield Police Department extends our condolences to the Raveis family along with their friends and loved ones during this difficult time," officials said.
Members of the Fairfield Police Crash Investigation and Reconstruction team are leading the ongoing investigation.
According to authorities, the "southbound vehicle crossed over into the northbound lane, striking a mailbox and then" Raveis.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene Friday and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
According to its website, the William Raveis Charitable Fund was founded in 2004, and it provides "funding, and both physical and emotional support to patients and their families affected by breast cancer."
Its signature event, the William Raveis Ride + Walk, has raised more than $2.5 million for cancer research since 2019.
