Kim is retiring this year after 35 years of teaching at Holland Hill Elementary School in the 2nd and 5th grades. She has impacted the lives of over 700 students. She goes above and beyond to keep students engaged by finding ways to meet instructional targets in fun ways. She works alongside a group of 5th grade parents to plan fundraising and activities throughout the year. She is involved in fundraisers such as pasta night, dinner nights out, bake sales, and pie and cookie sales to fund our graduation, end of year picnic and trip to Broadway. Each student also receives a class t-shirt and school yearbook. Kim volunteers her time and attends after school activities to support the students in her class. Kim‘s retirement gift from the school was little free library to put in her front yard where she can continue to provide the children in the community with books. It was custom made and painted by the art teacher. Our SBA scores at Holland Hill have been climbing over the past years as a school of distinction. We recently became a No Place for Hate community.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
She loves reading aloud to her class everyday after lunch. She will hunt down copies of the book for any student who wants to read along.
