Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County New Member Open Houses

Learn how you can make a positive impact alongside other women in your community

The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County (JLEFC) is excited to announce its upcoming New Member Open Houses, where prospective members are invited to learn how they can join a community of women who have come together to effect positive change in Fairfield County. This year’s open houses will kick off with the first-ever New Member Bonfire at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield on July 16 from 7PM to 9PM. In addition to information on how to become a JLEFC member, guests will enjoy snacks and smores as they get to know current League members at this fun BYO-chair event.

The JLEFC is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women with leadership and skills-training opportunities, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. JLEFC members give their time and skills to benefit such diverse local partner organizations as Operation Hope, which provides a food pantry and homeless services; and Read to Grow, which promotes literacy from birth with free book programs for families. New members will have the chance to participate in the JLEFC’s second annual Volunteer-a-thon, when JLEFC members will aid both long-standing and brand-new community partners with 26.2 straight hours of volunteer work. They’ll also take part in the revival of the beloved Enchanted Castle, which the JLEFC is bringing back to Fairfield after an absence of several years. This much-loved and highly anticipated event combines literacy and family fun as children tour a storybook castle to hear their favorite characters tell their tales during Halloween week.

In addition to the July 16 bonfire, New Member Open Houses will be scheduled throughout the summer and fall at Aspetuck Brew Lab, Harborview Market, Fairfield University, Penfield Beach, and other exciting locations in our community.
