This weekend's weather isn't going to be good but there is some excellent news weather-wise for next week.
FAIRFIELD, CT — The latest details on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast in Fairfield includes lots of rain, but once we get past this weekend, we're finally looking at a nice weather week coming up.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, "Lots of clouds and some sunshine today with our temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. More clouds tonight leading to rain moving in on Saturday. The rain will be moving in very slowly starting around 8 AM western Connecticut and it might take until 3-4 PM eastern Connecticut. Heavy rain Saturday night, ending early on Sunday. Not a washout, but a few scattered showers possible for Mother's Day."

Saturday: Rain. Steady temperature around 50. East wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 45. East wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Sunday: A 50-percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 63. North wind 11 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.
Sunday Night: A 40-percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 61.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 68.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
