Letter To The Editor: Farnen Best Choice For Environment, Economy

Scott Thompson has written a letter supporting District 132 state representative candidate Brian Farnen.

Dear Editor:

As a sustainability and clean energy activist, it gives me great pleasure to write this letter of support for a Republican candidate for state office. In the upcoming January special election for the vacated state House representative seat in District 132, I proudly support Brian Farnen. Mr. Farnen is a leader in the climate change fight as an officer of the CT Green Bank, the world’s first green bank. This green bank model is now being replicated across the globe as a bipartisan approach to confront climate change. The approach has created jobs and promoted the clean energy economy by attracting $1.42 billion in private capital investment to Connecticut. Now more then ever we need independent elected leaders that can work across party lines to effect the change our planet needs.

As a core value, Mr. Farnen deeply understands that sustainability and clean energy go hand-in-hand with economic growth. In this regard, Fairfield is a model for Connecticut, having been recently named the most business-friendly town in Fairfield County and rated most sustainable Town in Connecticut. Mr. Farnen is an excellent choice to carry this torch at the state level. I believe he will be an independent voice that protects our environment, promotes our economy, and shares the best of Fairfield’s values. Please join me in supporting him at the polls on Jan. 14.
