Letter: Jim Bowen For Fairfield RTM District 9

Dear editor,

I want to share why I support Jim Bowen for RTM in District 9.

I had many conversations with Jim even before he was deciding to run, and one thing has been always clear; he wants to make Fairfield a better place to live for everyone. He genuinely cares about this town and its people. Even though he knew running unaffiliated would be a challenge, he was adamant it was the best way to represent the people of District 9. He wanted to be able to speak for the voters without the constraints of having to answer to party leadership.

Jim’s background developed over 28 years in the Air Force is impressive. He reached the rank of full colonel, a rank less than 1 percent of the military achieves. He knows how to build teams, tackle tough issues, and has extensive budget and education experience. He has the skills and strong work ethic we need to energize the budget review process and control tax growth.

However, I think Jim’s greatest qualities are his character and integrity. You see his character reflected in his dedication. He is out in the district, 8-12 hours every day, engaging with us. He is by far the most visible and available candidate. Anyone that has talked to him knows he is a straight shooter, and you can trust what he says.

Jim is very involved in the community through the PTA, local veterans organizations, and serving on school district steering committees. He is a strong advocate for the people of District 9. He organized and worked with hundreds of residents to bring transparency and accountability to the revaluation and tax appeals processes.

Jim is a great friend and leader; a man of unquestionable character and honesty who is always the first person to offer support and a helping hand in any situation. He will provide the leadership we need, and I urge every voter to look at him on the Know Your Reps site and to vote for Jim Bowen, the only unaffiliated candidate for RTM-9!
