Letter: Jim Bowen Has The Right Skills For Fairfield RTM

"When there are hard decisions to be made to address our unsustainable spending and tax increases, I want Jim making them."

Dear Patch editorial team,

I have lived in Fairfield for 29 years and I have never seen a candidate who works as hard or is more qualified to be our RTM representative than Jim Bowen. Many of you have seen him out campaigning on the yellow bike every day, showing how dedicated he is. He engages with voters on a daily basis, listening to our concerns and sharing his vision for a stronger Fairfield. As a 28-year retired Air Force colonel, he has a truly unique combination of skills in leadership, budgeting, and education that we need in our RTM. As a citizen of Fairfield, he has examined every line of the town and Board of Education budgets, numbering 495 pages. When there are hard decisions to be made to address our unsustainable spending and tax increases, I want Jim making them.

Jim decided to run as an unaffiliated candidate and to be completely self-financed because he wants to serve and speak only for us. When he shares stories from the campaign trail, you can hear the passion in his voice and see the excitement on his face! When we need help and an advocate, Jim will be there.
