Man Accused Of Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend's New Boyfriend In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — An 18-year-old man was arrested on home invasion, assault and related charges Sunday, after Fairfield police said he assaulted the new boyfriend of the suspect's ex-girlfriend while the victim was sleeping.

The incident occurred Sunday at a home in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield.

Police said that the victim contacted the department saying he had just been assaulted while asleep. The victim said he "had woken up dazed and confused" as the suspect was hitting him in the face.

The suspect was arrested a short while later, and "admitted to entering the home through a window and assaulting" the victim, according to police.

  • First-degree burglary
  • First-degree criminal mischief
  • Disorderly conduct

He was held in lieu of bail of $100,000, and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
