Alleged Racial Incident During Volleyball Match Investigated By Fairfield U. & CCSU (patch.com) — Fairfield University is reviewing allegations that some fans in its student section directed a racially charged "George Floyd" chant at a Central Connecticut State University volleyball player during a recent match in Fairfield. Both schools say they are taking the complaint seriously, are communicating during the investigation, and emphasize that derogatory language has no place at Fairfield athletic events or on campus.

4. 11 Fairfield restaurants, 1 gas station cited for serious health violations in August (ctpost.com) — Fairfield's Health Department cited 11 restaurants and one gas station for 27 serious violations during August inspections, ranging from unsafe food temperatures to blocked hand sinks and improper sanitizing. Several establishments say they've already fixed the problems, but the report highlights where local diners may want to pay closer attention to food safety practices around town.
   

5. Fairfield Beautification Commission Presents Rose Award to First United Methodist Church for Excellence in Landscaping (ottumwaradio.com) — First United Methodist Church has received a Rose Award from the Fairfield Beautification Commission for gardens that brighten the church grounds and surrounding neighborhood.
