Fairfield Residence Burglarized While Woman Home; Man Arrested: Police
A woman told authorities she heard a smash and saw a person break open an interior door, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man was recently arrested after being accused of burglarizing a Fairfield residence while its occupant was home, according to police.
Jason Baker, 35, of the 100 block of Kennedy Drive, was arrested Friday by Bridgeport police and turned over to Fairfield authorities on charges of second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, law enforcement said.
The crime of which Baker is accused occurred just before 6 p.m. June 14, when officers received a report of a burglary in progress in the 100 block of Fairchild Avenue, according to police.

A woman told authorities she was in her basement when she heard a smash and went to the bottom of the stairs, where she saw a person break open an interior door on the floor above, according to police. The woman said she saw a man’s leg, clothed in shorts, but that he fled when she called out, according to law enforcement.
Police reviewed surveillance and examined recent records of local burglaries, eventually obtaining a warrant for Baker, who remains in custody on a $100,000 bond, authorities said. He has yet to enter a plea and his next court date is set for Oct. 19, according to court records.
