Man Claimed To Be Mugged, Made False 911 Calls For Excuse To Tell Girlfriend: Fairfield Police

The man is accused of making false 911 calls to come up with an excuse to tell his girlfriend because he was cheating on her.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield man is accused of making two false 911 calls to give himself an excuse for being late to meet up with his girlfriend because he was cheating on her, according to multiple reports.

The Connecticut Post reports Christopher Lynch, 26, of Mill Hill Road, was arrested early Monday morning after reporting that he had been mugged at the train station around 3:45 a.m.

Lynch had told officers that he would meet with them on Kings Highway East but police were unable to locate him there or at any of the town’s three train stations, according to the Post.

The Fairfield Daily Voice reports police said that Lynch also falsely reported being in an accident on I-95 in another call.

When officers finally located Lynch at his home, he allegedly told them that he was cheating on his girlfriend and needed to account for some time, according to the Daily Voice.
