Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Drive-Thru at Bank in Fairfield: Report
The victim was making a night deposit and the suspect ran off with nearly $800 in cash.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred outside the Bank of America on Kings Highway on New Year’s Eve, according to multiple reports.
The Fairfield Citizen reports that a U-Haul employee was making a night deposit just before 8 p.m. when he was approached from behind by a man dressed all in black and wearing a ski mask.
The victim told police that he was approaching the deposit drop box in thedrive-thru on the west side of the building at the time of the robbery, according to the Fairfield Minuteman.

The suspect attempted to pistol whip the victim, who dropped the deposit bag during the struggle and the suspect ran off with $777.42 in cash, according to the Fairfield Minuteman.
The Minuteman reports the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill him if he moved. The suspect then ran off and jumped over a fence.

The victim, who wasn’t injured, then called 911 and a K-9 track was unsuccessful, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
