Man Stole 5-Ton Air Conditioning Unit: Fairfield Police
A man was arrested in connection to the theft of a 5-ton air conditioning unit behind a restaurant in Fairfield.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested this week in connection to the theft of a 5-ton air conditioning unit behind Steffano’s Restaurant on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield over the summer, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports Lee McKelvie, 58, was identified as a suspect at the time of the theft and was arrested on a warrant after an alert officer recognized the truck he was driving and pulled him over.
A second man had been spotted on surveillance video assisting McKelvie with the theft of the air conditioning unit, according to the Citizen.
