Message from Fairfield DTC Chair on Bill Gerber's Passing
Steve Sheinberg Shares Memories and Condolences

As a friend first, and as the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee (DTC) Chair, I want to express my profound sadness at the passing of our dear friend and leader, Fairfield First Selectman Bill Gerber. Our loving thoughts are with his family—Jessica, John, and Gillian—at this very difficult time.
When Bill and I met twelve years ago, I knew immediately that he was someone special. He was friendly, warm, kind, authentic, and had a great sense of humor. His positive, loving energy was contagious. He immediately made you feel at ease when talking with him, whether he knew you well or had just met you.
I admired his dedication and commitment to public service. As we worked together over the years, it became very clear how deeply he cared. He worked tirelessly to make Fairfield a better place to live and was relentless in that goal.
