Missing Fairfield Girl, 16, Found In New Jersey: Police

Jomana Ali was last seen on July 2 leaving her home in the Elm Street area in Fairfield, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Jomana Ali, who was last seen more than 10 days ago when she left her Fairfield home, was found safe in New Jersey early Saturday morning.

Greenwich Township police contacted Fairfield authorities around 2:15 a.m. after Ali, 16, was located in Warren County. She appeared to be in good physical health and was reunited with her family, Fairfield police said.

Ali was last seen on July 2 around 5:45 p.m., when she left her home in the Elm Street area in Fairfield. Police said she turned off location services on her phone and stopped using social media.

According to police, she was seen on surveillance video footage at the southbound rest area on Interstate 95 in Fairfield on July 2. Several witnesses told police she approached them and asked for transportation while expressing her desire to run away from home.

Ali was then seen willingly getting into a black Saturn Ion with Massachusetts license plates, which drove away southbound on I-95.

The Saturn was later found in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the driver told police he drove Ali south on I-95 and dropped her off at a gas station on North Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr, New Jersey.

Ali was later seen on surveillance footage at an auto repair shop in Bellmawr, police said.

Fairfield police said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ali's disappearance.
