Music for Youth Presents Jordan Dodson at Pequot Library in Southport

Music for Youth presents Jordan Dodson, guitar, on Saturday, March 7th, at 2 PM, at Pequot Library in Southport. A winner of Astral Artists’ 2013 National Auditions, Jordan Dodson is an active soloist and chamber musician who has been named “One of the top young guitarists of his generation” (Performance Today) He was an award winner in the 2011 Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, the 2010 Indiana international Guitar Competition and the 2008 American String Teachers Association Competition.

An advocated for contemporary music, Mr.Dodson has commissioned and premiered many pieces internationally. In the fall of 2011, Mr. Dodson was one of two guitarists selected to inaugurate the Curtis Institute of Music’s new program in classical guitar.

Music for Youth’s mission is to foster the love and knowledge of live music in young people. The concert in March is FREE for families with children. Adults without children are asked to make a goodwill donation which helps sustain future programs. No tickets or registration is required.
