New Animal Cruelty Charge For Ex-Fairfield RTM Member Ray Neuberger
Raymond Neuberger was arrested on the same charge less than six months ago.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Former Fairfield Representative Town Meeting member Raymond Neuberger, 39, has been arrested on a charge of animal cruelty for the second time in less than six months, accused again of torturing a cat, according to Fairfield police.
Monday's arrest marks the third time Neuberger has been accused of such a crime, with the October arrest, and reportedly serving a stint in jail in 2018 in connection with the abuse of two dogs.
Neuberger's arrest in October was in connection with accusations that he doused a cat with bleach and tortured it. The cat succumbed to those injuries.

Fairfield Police Lt. Michael Paris told Patch that following news of the October arrest, the department received information accusing Neuberger of similar crimes against another cat.
"The cat sustained chemical burns just like the others, and to our knowledge the cat is alive but adopted out to a new family after the owner was unable to support the veterinary bills," Paris said.

Paris declined to elaborate on the person who reported the incident, but he said that the department appreciated learning of the allegations.
"The Fairfield Police thank the public for coming forward to provide information that leads to the arrest of these suspects, especially in this case where the victim is that of an innocent animal," Paris said, adding that the department has not received any additional reports about Neuberger, so far.
Neuberger was released posting a $10,000 court set bond, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Feb. 28. His October case is still pending.
