New Donut Shop Opens On Black Rock Turnpike In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — Donut Crazy, a Connecticut-based donut shop with locations throughout the state, recently opened its newest site in Fairfield at 2385 Black Rock Turnpike, making it the chain's seventh store.

The shop opened this month in the space formerly held by Lovebird, a fried chicken restaurant that abruptly closed in January. Other Donut Crazy locations are in Westport, Stratford, Shelton, Branford, West Hartford and New Haven.

Donut Crazy specializes in delicious, sometimes whimsical donuts, such as the "Birthday Cake" donut (Vanilla cake glazed, topped with buttercream and rainbow sprinkles) and the "Boston Cream" donut (Raised yeast shell, filled with sweet bavarian cream, topped with chocolate icing). Various breakfasts and sandwiches are also sold at the shop, in addition to Shearwater Coffee, which has its own location in Fairfield.

The Fairfield Donut Crazy shop is open Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
