New Schools Superintendent Reportedly Starts In Fairfield Tuesday

Michael Testani, currently Bridgeport's schools superintendent, will not work in both districts for part of November, as previously thought.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Michael Testani, currently the schools superintendent in Bridgeport, will begin his new job in the same role in Fairfield on Tuesday, and will avoid overlapping the two jobs through part of November, reported the Fairfield Citizen.

Testani, a Fairfield resident, was hired for the Fairfield job this summer, and the thought was he would start in Fairfield on the 1st, and serve both districts for a few weeks in November until his tenure in Bridgeport officially came to a close.

The Bridgeport district has yet to hire an interim schools superintendent, and has started a search for a permanent superintendent.

Instead of Testani leaving the Bridgeport district at Thanksgiving, he opted to end his Bridgeport job on Monday by using accrued vacation time, and will start the Fairfield job fresh.
