Nancy Lefkowitz (Gerri Hernández)

I’m Nancy Lefkowitz and I’m running for selectman of Fairfield.

As a 17-year Fairfield resident, homeowner, taxpayer, and mom of three school-aged children, I have a strong, vested interest in the well-being of our town. By taking a proactive role in the processes that determine the quality of life we enjoy here in Fairfield, I’ve been able to get things done for the health, safety, and well-being of you and your family … and of mine, too.

I am a doer, a collaborator, and an effective and creative problem solver — where others see obstacles, I see opportunities. I’m very proud of my proven track record of success, both professionally and personally. As the first Democrat elected to the Representative Town Meeting from Greenfield Hill, as a board member of Connecticut Against Gun Violence, as a founding member of TIME’S UP, and as senior vice president of Tribeca Enterprises, I’ve demonstrated that I know how to get things done.

As selectman, I will continue to get things done for Fairfield:

I will promote and support the growth of our commercial grand list, at the Fairfield Metro Station and on Black Rock Turnpike, in a smart, strategic, and sustainable way in order to keep our property taxes low. I know that growing our grand list is essential to keeping Fairfield affordable.
I will support our aging adults by investing in senior tax relief, expanded housing options, and updated facilities. I think you can tell a lot about a community by the way we treat our seniors.
I will strengthen our commitment to the efforts of the Sustainable Fairfield Task Force so we can remain a leader in sustainability. I feel a clean, healthy environment is essential to our overall well-being.

I will support the arts by re-establishing an Arts Commission. I believe the arts create bridges that unify and have a positive impact on the health of a community.

I will continue to prioritize and support public education through investments in our students, our teachers, and our schools because our schools are the No. 1 reason people choose to live in Fairfield. I feel it’s the right of every child to receive a high-quality education in a safe, clean, and healthy environment.

Just ask anyone that knows me … I know how to get things done. And these are just some of the things I hope to get done for Fairfield.

With your vote on Nov. 5, I hope to earn the opportunity to get things done for you.

Nancy Lefkowitz

Candidate for Fairfield selectman
