Stamford Firefighter Tom Elles stopped by to visit with Pack 88 and talk about fire safety. Scouts learned why the helmet has a lip in the back, how much the equipment weighs and where you click your flashlight. Firefighter Elles demonstrated the safety features built into his gear including the alarm that goes off. Scouts learned about testing doors for heat, staying low to avoid smoke and to make sure every family has a fire escape plan.
