No

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

No

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I like where I live. I want to help preserve Fairfield’s character and quality of life. I want to ensure residents are kept well informed and understand the issues affecting them, as well as the available options. Resident input provides valuable insights and should help shape decisions that align with their preferences and expectations. I want to help work toward solutions to the problems that residents, like myself, and my neighbors, face on a daily basis.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Ensuring that schools are properly staffed given the increased needs of children in this post-pandemic environment (i.e., learning loss from missed school, decreased socialization, social media pressures, cyberbullying, increased need of professional assistance to tackle mental health challenges). I would work to ensure funding is allotted effectively for these resources, while trying to maintain low taxes in this inflationary environment.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I find the expression “policy over party” to be very applicable. I think every issue needs to be addressed in context. What makes sense in one location, at one particular time, might not be the best idea for another. Addressing each issue with a situational perspective allows for a more tailored and effective solution that considers the unique characteristics, needs, and resources of the community.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Law enforcement. I am so appreciative of the work our police officers do, putting their lives on the line for strangers every single day. Every situation is uncertain, no matter how routine it might appear, they never know what they could be walking into. Everyone wants to feel safe, and keeping crime low is an ongoing task that our local law enforcement embraces daily. It’s imperative that they have the resources needed to carry out such an important role in the community.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

My father is a big Winston Churchill fan. One quote of his that has resonated with me over the years is, “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.”
