No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
No
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
Three important reasons: First reason, I feel the Firemen's Union has not gotten the support they need. I started a petition on their behalf that got over 375 signatures, however, I was not clear on the process or how to be more vocal so I didn't continue to pursue it.
Second reason, I live on a high-traffic and dangerous street. There have been many studies over the years but nothing done. Someone is going to get killed and I would like to prevent that. And third, I have the time to do the work that the position requires. After raising two children as a single mother, having time is a gift and I'd like to give back to the town I love.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Life-long, multigenerational and affordable community that values all income levels. When your teachers, firemen, nurses and elders are priced out, it effects all aspects of how we live. This is the core that is the soul of Fairfield or any great town -- how we care for one another.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
That's a touch question because this is a highly educated community of very qualified people. As for me, I do my homework and am an educator. I will listen to my neighbors and represent their concerns - not just my own. I can't be bought, which I'm sadly including.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
I have been failed by my RTM representative because I have no idea who they are.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Affordable housing, safe roads and supporting elders.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My volunteerism included being an instructor and mentor for Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities at University of Connecticut for nine years.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
I help my clients succeed by giving them guidance and recognition of who they are - of their gift. Authenticity is at the core of it all.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Since I began this process a few weeks ago, I have met more people in my neighborhood than I have in the last 25 years. My neighbors opened their doors and signed the petition for me to be on the ballot. There are so many of us who want and need more community and for me, this has been eye opening as to how many nice people live right around the corner from me.
