N/A

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

For over 20 years, I have served on various elected boards and commissions in Fairfield including Town Plan & Zoning, Board of Assessment Appeals, and the Representative Town Meeting. RTM District 9 from 2006 - 2007, 2010 - 2011 and 2012 - 2013. I came back to the RTM (District 8 due to redistricting) in January of 2023 to fill a vacancy.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

Giving back to our community has been a guiding force for me for many years and it’s been an honor to serve with many other citizen volunteers. During a very divided time in our country, I want to help bring back the bipartisan spirit to the RTM and promote more unity among our political parties. As a business owner, I intend to foster economic development and keep our taxes low to promote affordability. My integrity, resourcefulness and hardworking attributes will bring common sense ideas, and well-founded decisions to the Fairfield RTM.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.

One of the biggest issues that I routinely hear from fellow residents is the cost of our government (higher and higher taxes), and their desire to have a more transparent and accountable government. I will be a voice for my district, and will continue to advocate for strong schools, responsible budgets, and beautiful amenities while maintaining our strong tax base.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I’ve always been an independent voice who brings logical, common-sense ideas to the forefront. I want to normalize collaboration across parties, seek to find common ground, and focus on getting things accomplished for Fairfield.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

N/A

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Campaigning and talking to fellow residents are the best ways to understand the issues facing our town. Issues such as fiscal responsibility, public safety, over-development, and general quality of life are universal issues for members of our community.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

With no previous ties to CT, in 1990 I chose to marry, buy a home, and raise my family here in Fairfield. 32 years later, I’m proud of those life decisions, as well as all my personal and professional successes. It’s not just the resume or the awards that I would boast as evidence of my skillset, but moreover - it’s the day after day love of this town and our residents. My goal is to keep Fairfield attractive for young families, affordable for our seniors, and a viable option for everyone in between.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

The harder you work, the luckier you get. In other words, opportunities are for those who are prepared.
