Pedestrian Killed Crossing I-95 In Fairfield: Police

As of Friday afternoon, the investigation remained active and no arrests had been made, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night while crossing Interstate 95 in Fairfield, according to state police.

The incident occurred about 10 p.m., when a Honda SUV carrying four people and traveling in the left southbound lane near Exit 21 hit the pedestrian, police said. The victim, who was female, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police. I-95 southbound was closed for over three hours while law enforcement investigated, police said.

As of Friday afternoon, the investigation remained active and no arrests had been made, according to police. The pedestrian had been identified but officials were unable to release her name Friday afternoon, police said.
