Pequot Library Book Sale Starts Friday in Southport

The 56th annual event has been called "The Best Book Sale in New England."

SOUTHPORT, CT — The 56th annual Pequot Library Book Sale kicks off tomorrow, July 22, and runs through Tuesday, July 26.

Referred to as "The Best Book Sale in New England," it features more than 140,000 books, plus CDs, DVDs, record albums and other unique specials.

On Friday, it starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 7 p.m., and items are double the marked price. Saturday and Sunday are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and items are priced as marked. Monday is also 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but items are half the marked price, and Tuesday is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., $5 per bag (fill it and pay only $5).

"Admission is FREE and open to the public," organizers wrote in a statement. "Proceeds directly fund Pequot Library's over 750 annual programs and events."
