The woman was arrested in a Fairfield parking lot over the weekend.

A Shelton woman was arrested Saturday evening after Fairfield police found her passed out in a car with the engine running and her children, ages 2 and 1, in the backseat at a Black Rock Turnpike parking lot, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports that Cami M. Demace, 34, of Judson Street, allegedly told police that she had taken oxycodone pills. Police found a bag of 28 oxycodone pills in the car.

Police found Demace at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday kneeling on the front seat, facing toward the back of the car with her head on the headrest and the officer had to knock on the window several times before she woke up, according to the Citizen.
